William C. "Bill" Smith, 66, of 412 S. Third Street, died January 17, 2007 at his home under the care of his family and Iowa Hospice.

Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Pursel-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory.  Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, with military honors presented by members of Frank Lewis Glick Post #46 of the American Legion.  Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Pursel-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory, where the family will be present to greet friends.  Memorials may be directed to the family in his name.  Pursel-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for Bill and his family.

Bill is survived by a son Schain Alan Smith of New Providence; and two sisters Dorothy J. Hill of Laurel and Mary Jane Calkins of Marshalltown.
