Brueggemann, Robert W. Age 69. Of Elkhorn. Entered Eternal Life when God softly called his name on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at Angels Grace Hospice, in Oconomowoc, WI, with his loving family by his side. Bob was born April 21, 1941, in Marshalltown, IA, son of Rev. Albert and Rose (nee Rinne) Brueggemann. Bob spent his early life in Iowa and Nebraska. He attended Drake University and Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, graduating in 1964. After owning and operating funeral homes in Michigan, Bob went to work for Batesville Casket Company, serving the lower half of Wisconsin for nearly two decades. He retired in 2000 due to health issues. On February 7, 1992, he was united in marriage to Susan M. Hilgart (nee Zielke). Together they cherished their 4 children, Rex (Namita) Brueggemann, Michele (David) Larsen, Pamela (Ryan) Olley and Kurt Hilgart. He is also loved by 11 grandchildren, Nicole, Carmen, Kieran, Raj, Alexandria, Nikhil, Christopher, Aaron, Haley, Ashlyn and Brynlee; father-in-law, Walter F. Zielke; brother-in-law, David (Martha) Zielke; along with many other relatives and dear friends. He will be forever missed by his canine children, Otto, McCormick and Ozbert Martin "Ozee". Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jack and mother-in-law Valeria M. Zielke. Visitation will be 4 PM Monday, January 24, 2011, at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1875 N. Calhoun Rd., Brookfield, followed by a 7 PM Service with Rev. Gene Ferrara officiating. Burial of cremains will take place in the spring at Salem Church Cemetery, Steinauer, NE. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Rehabilitation Hospital of Wisconsin and Angels Grace Hospice, for their loving and compassionate care during this difficult time.
