Melanie died on Friday March 14^th, 2014 in Washington DC where she lived as a retired medical technologist Technical specialist. She was never married, had no children but was close to her brother and sister and their families.  Currently there is no obituary or funeral plans. There could possibly be a memorial service in May.  I am enclosing her picture with her family and the last note I received from her last November. I’m sure she wouldn’t have minded me sharing her thoughts:

“Thank you for all the time you have put in for keeping our class in touch. 

I've really liked seeing the pictures from the 50th. It's interesting the people I could recognize by their picture and those only by their name and others ?

 I had my ticket, I wanted to be there but my back went out and the MD said no.  Interestingly, after 6 wks I had an MRI and everything got better(All that magnetic joustly put my protons back in place, The MD laughed when I said that).

I have been in DC now over 40 yrs and love it but I'm thinking of moving to Corpus Christi, TX to be close to my brother.maybe in April.  I'm pretending I'm moving and sorting thru things. After traveling the world (31 countries,and most of states) I can't figure out why I am so reluctant to leave.  Oh, well.”
